Conflict Minerals

Under U.S. law, "conflict minerals" include the metals tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold, which are obtained from the minerals cassiterite, columbite-tantalite, and wolframite, respectively.

At our company WORLDWIDE, we are deeply committed to ethical practices. We work to ensure that our supply chain and products are free of conflict minerals. We urge our suppliers to implement proper due diligence processes, with the aim of identifying and verifying the origin of the minerals they use in their products. As a distributor, we do not directly source or import tantalum, tin, tungsten, or gold nor are we subject to U.S. requirements (such as the Dodd-Frank Act) or recent European Union regulations on conflict minerals.

We ask our suppliers to inform us about the status of conflict minerals in the products they supply. We also welcome customer inquiries and comments regarding compliance with these regulations.

Declaration of Conformity:

WORLDWIDE is aware of conflict minerals reporting obligations under Section 1502 of the U.S. Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. However, traditional component distribution activities, such as those carried out by WORLDWIDE, are not within the scope of the reporting requirements of such legislation. As a distributor of electronic, electrical, electromechanical (EEE) and related components, we do not design, manufacture or control the contents of products. As such, we rely on our manufacturing partners to inform us about the status of conflict minerals in the products we distribute.

Important Note: Since WORLDWIDE does not control the material content of the products it sells, we are unable to complete online surveys, spreadsheets, or sign customer letters or documents related to conflict minerals due to potential legal liabilities. If you can't find the conflict minerals information from our suppliers, please don't hesitate to contact us.

WORLDWIDE declares that it does not procure minerals directly from mines, smelters or refineries. Since WORLDWIDE is at various levels distant from the direct actors in the supply chain, it is difficult to effectively influence their purchasing practices, especially in a short period of time. In addition, WORLDWIDE has no influence on the design, production or material sourcing of any product. Therefore, WORLDWIDE is not defined as a "manufacturer" or "contract manufacturer" as stipulated in section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act of 2010.

Any disputed information about CMRTs must be reported directly to the product manufacturer.

RoHS Regulations

The European Union directives 2011/65/EU and 2015/863 limit the use of 10 specific substances in the manufacture of certain electrical equipment.

Restricted substances and maximum permitted concentrations in homogeneous material:

SubstanceMaximum concentration
Lead0,1%
Mercury0,1%
PBB (Polybrominated Biphenyls) 0,1%
PBDE (Polybrominated Biphenyl Ethers) 0,1%
Hexavalent Chromium0,1%
Cadmium0,01%
DEHP (Bis(2-ethylhexyl)-phthalate) 0,1%
BBP (Butyl Benzyl Phthalate) 0,1%
DBP (Dibutyl phthalate)0,1%
DIBF (Diisobutyl Phthalate) 0,1%

Although these restrictions do not legally apply to individual components, their importance to many customers in terms of compliance is recognized.

Declaration of Conformity:

Compliance Compliance with the RoHS directive means that:

  1. The product does not contain any of the restricted substances in prohibited concentrations or applications.
  2. It can be processed at higher temperatures, such as those required for lead-free soldering.

WORLDWIDE declares that all products it supplies are RoHS compliant.

REACH Regulations

European Union Regulation No. 1907/2006/EC, known as REACH, regulates the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals. It was created to safeguard human health and the environment from the risks associated with chemicals. This regulation entered into force in the European Union on 1 June 2007.

The impact of REACH and the obligations it imposes on industry will continue to evolve over time. Highlights include:

  • Continuity of supply: WORLDWIDE continuously works with suppliers to ensure that there are no disruptions in the availability of products affected by REACH.
  • Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC): WORLDWIDE will notify customers of the presence of SVHCs when they exceed 0.1% by weight of a product, as soon as suppliers provide us with such information.
  • Registration obligations: WORLDWIDE is not subject to registration obligations, as it does not manufacture or import substances into the European Union in quantities greater than 1 tonne per year.

Declaration of Conformity:

Compliance At WORLDWIDE, we fully support the objectives of REACH, which seek to improve protection against the risks and dangers of chemicals for both workers' health and the environment. Products that contain chemical substances have this information declared in their technical sheet.

WORLDWIDE declares that it does not supply any SVHC (Substance of Very High Concern) products.

CE marking

CE marking is the procedure by which the manufacturer or importer notifies users and competent authorities that the product placed on the market has undergone a conformity assessment and complies with the requirements established by the applicable European regulations. Responsibility for certification processes and, if applicable, product certification rests with the manufacturer. The main actions are as follows:

  • Ensure that the product complies with the essential requirements of the applicable directives.
  • Sign the "CE" Declaration of Conformity.
  • Prepare the corresponding technical documentation.
  • Place the "CE" marking on the product.

The presence of the CE marking on a product confirms that it has passed a conformity assessment and complies with the requirements stipulated by European regulations. The manufacturer assumes responsibility for the declared characteristics of the product.

If you need the CE certificate for a specific product, please do not hesitate to contact us.
