Solid state relays with push-in spring terminals

In the industrial world, solid state relays (SSRs) with screw terminals are common, but increasingly spring-loaded insertion terminals are gaining prominence. This is largely due to new technologies available on the market that make wire insertion easier.

New value for control panels

How do spring-loaded terminals work?

Spring-insertion technology is based on plug-in terminals, where the electrical contact is established and the conductor is held in place by a spring. By pushing the conductor itself, the spring is opened. Both rigid conductors and conductors equipped with a ferrule can be connected directly without the need for additional tools.

New range of Solid State Relays with spring-loaded terminals

WORLDWIDE WCE has launched a new range of solid state relays with spring-loaded insert terminals to provide greater flexibility and meet the needs of diverse applications.

Single Phase Solid State Relays

The SOR series of single-phase solid state relays with spring-loaded terminals are suitable for AC-1 resistive loads. Some key features are:

  • 12-280 VAC and 24-600 VAC versions
  • Ability to control resistive loads up to 41 A at 40°C
  • Thyristor rating up to 90 A - 7200 A²s
  • Wide input range: 3-32 VDC with regulated current
  • Surge Protection (TVS)
  • Input status LED in green
  • cRUus (pending), CE and UKCA certifications

WORLDWIDE WCE also offers “ready-to-use” models with integrated heat sink.

Two-phase Solid State Relays

We have extended our SOBR range of two-phase solid state relays with spring-loaded terminals, available for AC-1 resistive loads. Some notable features are:

  • 12-280 VAC and 24-600 VAC versions
  • Ability to control resistive loads up to 2 x 41 A at 40°C (thyristor rating up to 75 A - 7200 A²s)
  • Control voltage 10-30 VDC
  • Surge Protection (TVS)
  • 2 green input status LEDs
  • cRUus (pending), CE and UKCA certifications

WORLDWIDE WCE also offers “ready-to-use” models with integrated heat sink.

Three-phase Solid State Relays

Our 3-phase solid state relays are also available with spring-loaded terminals to control resistive loads up to 3 x 41 A at 40°C or 3 x 32 A at 40°C (thyristor rating up to 125 A per line). We offer 2 versions depending on your application:

  • Versions for resistive loads AC-1: SGTR9XXXXX with TVS protection
  • Versions for all types of loads: SGTR8XXXXX with RC+VDR protection

Four-Leg Solid State Relays

Integrating 4 single-phase relays in a “sightpac” style housing, our SMQR product family is the best choice for reducing the size of your control panel (compact 45mm version). This range is suitable for controlling resistive loads up to 4 x 41 A at 40°C.

What are the advantages of spring-loaded terminals?

Push-In connections offer several advantages:

  • Robustness: Spring connections are strong and reliable.
  • Flexibility: They are suitable for various types of conductors: solid conductors, stranded conductors and finely stranded conductors with crimped ferrules.
